Packet Pick-Up

Please note: there will be no delivery of ride credentials and swag prior to the event this year. You must pick-up your packet in-person. Avoid long lines on event morning and stop by the Boys & Girls Club on Saturday afternoon.

Saturday, May 3rd

Sunday, May 4th

  • 6:30am until ride start time

IMPORTANT - You will receive a wristband that MUST BE WORN DURING THE RIDE

The wristband has a non-emergency SAG phone # should you experience a mechanical or other issue and cannot continue your ride. Note: we do not provide repair service on the route! Please ensure your bike is safe and ready-to-ride. Carry a repair kit. In an emergency, dial 911.

The wristband is your ticket for LUNCH! Please wear it to the entrance of the lunch area.

Event Day Schedule

Lowcountry Celebration Park, 94 Pope Ave., Hilton Head Island (Google Maps Link)

  • Late packet pick-up opens at 6:30am / No event day registration

  • Line-up & announcements 15 minutes prior to each start

  • 62-mile:  7:30am

  • 40-mile:  8:15am

  • 30-mile:  8:45am

  • 20-mile:  9:15am

  • 10-mile:  9:30am

  • Club Member and Family Fun ride:  10:00am

  • Post-ride meal, refreshments, and live music:  10:45am.

Ride Pace for Each Distance

Note the average pace for each distance. There will be periods of faster or slower speeds depending on police escort, crossings, turns, etc. Please review the route info HERE. You may ride a different distance/route than you selected during registration. Just be at the start at the time of your desired group! 

  • 62A:  20 - 22 MPH

  • 62B:  17 - 19 MPH

  • 40:  14 - 16 MPH

  • 30:  12 - 14 MPH

  • 20:  12 - 14 MPH

  • 10:  8 - 10 MPH

Parking

Parking is at available at the University of South Carolina - Beaufort, Hilton Head Campus. OR, ride to the start to add a few extra miles! Limited parking available at the Coligny Beach Parking area.

Bike Maintenance

The Bike Doctor will have a tent set-up near the start for any last-minute maintenance issues.

Specialized Bike Raffle 

Win a Specialized Sirrus X 2.0, a great all-around bike for pavement, gravel and more. Purchase raffle tickets at packet pick-up Saturday and Sunday: $20/ea. or 3 for $50. Thanks to The Bike Doctor for the generous donation. All proceeds from the raffle benefit the Boys & Girls Club.

Post-Ride Lunch & Entertainment

Enjoy a hearty lunch and cold beverages with live music from the Chilly Willy Band. Check out bikes from Specialized and apparel from MuMu Cycling Apparel.

Safety

  • The 62-mile and 40-mile routes will be escorted by the Beaufort County Sheriff Office until the first rest stop. The 30-mile route will be escorted until the Marshland Rd pathway.

  • BCSO officers will assist riders at major intersections, but please look for yourself and asses your safety!

  • All rides will be accompanied by group leaders to guide riders on the route. Please keep up to pace to stay with your group.

  • Signs are placed on the routes but we cannot guarantee that rogue bandits won't remove them. Stay with your group and know the route.

  • Roads are not closed to motorized vehicles. Leisure paths are shared with the general public.

  • Course marshals will be on the course to assist with the ride, but they will not stop traffic. Assess your safety!

  • Share the road according to the law.  

  • Ride to the right a reasonable distance from the edge and no more than two abreast. Ride single-file on busy roads.

  • Helmets are required for all participants.

  • Do not wear headphones/earbuds or take videos while riding. 

  • Class 1 and 2 e-bikes are allowed. Ride with caution and only use pedal assist when necessary.

Rest Stops

Rest stops will be stocked with water, fruit and assorted snacks. Please ride with bottles to refill. Rest rooms or port-a-lets available at each location.

  • 62-mile: At miles 28.6 and 45.3

  • 40-mile: At mile 24.2

  • 30-mile: At mile 20.9

  • 20-mile: At mile 10.7

  • 10-mile: None
